It’s been awhile since I took the easy way in posting an entry. Today’s a good day to do that.
Susan Harman, IC Press-Citizen, has a great article about Cedric Readus, a runningback on Iowa City High‘s playoff team. Readus’ story is one of trial and error, as his coaches and teachers try to keep him on the right track. Readus will start again in Friday’s Class 4A championship game vs. Dowling Catholic, as Roland Thompson will not play due to school code of conduct rules.
Rick Reilly, ESPN.com, rips apart John Feinstein’s assertion that Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan decision to bench QB Donovan McNabb as “racist.”
Mark McCarter, Huntsville Times, pens a letter to Auburn QB Cameron Newton regarding the convoluted allegations on whether or not his father requested money in exchange for his son playing at Mississippi State. McCarter’s opinion: “you messed up, kid.”
Dennis Dodd, CBS Sports, says cheating is worth it in sports, until you get caught.

And finally, Fang Bites provides information on ESPN’s 3rd annual college basketball marathon. The 24-hour parade of games begin on Tuesday as Miami (FL) and Memphis tips off at 11:00 pm CST and will end with the NIT Season Tip-Off in L.A. between host UCLA and the winner of the Pacific/Nevada game. Talk about a college hoops junky’s dream!
